Robert Morgan, a senior research and development member employed by Microsoft, recently leaked information on his LinkedIn profile on what could potentially be the next generation Windows operating system. Since the information was leaked, Robert's LinkedIn profile has not so surprisingly been removed, but not before the information was circulated.
I had the unique privilege to beta test the Windows 7 pre-released OS nearly a year before it was available in stores and am enticed by the concept of such a massive leap from a 32 and 64-bit Windows 7 to a 128-bit Windows 8 OS.
Interestingly enough, both Windows 7 and Macintosh's latest 10.6.3 Snow Leopard do seem to be designed with a faster, more spacious future super computer in mind. If the Windows 8 leak is accurate, we're likely to see untold advances in Microsoft's next OS!
The Windows 8 project has been confirmed as underway by Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's chief executive officer, but won't be available anytime before 2012.
